I am a believer and follower of Jesus Christ. "But the Lord stood with me and gave me strength..." 2 Timothy 4:17. I am a wife, mother, registered nurse, trainer, coach and a healthy living junkie! I believe in lifting heavy things, eating fresh food (not processed junk), workouts that improve functional fitness and help prevent injury, controlling stress levels, and decreasing toxins in my life. I do NOT believe in fad diets, counting calories or weighing my food. Nurses don't have time for that crap! Healthy living should be a sustainable process for the long haul... not painful, tedious and a temporary bandaid. I started my own wellness business a few years ago helping individuals and groups with fitness, nutrition, and changing habits and behavior patterns to live better lives. I have taught fitness classes and yoga classes, along with doing some personal training and also corporate wellness seminars. Talk about workplace wellness... who needs that more than a nurse! Nurses are beat down every day in their jobs... physically, mentally, and emotionally. It's time to take care of YOU! I want to help nurses prevent injuries on the job, manage their stress levels, learn how to take control of their eating patterns and habits, and basically just rock at being the best they can be... at work, and in life. This site is geared towards nurses because I know that there is such a need in that demographic, but certainly anyone looking to live a healthier life will hopefully enjoy this site. That being said, I am not a doctor, and anything on this site is not meant to be taken as medical advice. Please contact your physician before trying any new exercise program or making any drastic changes in your diet. Feel free to contact me as well with any comments or questions. Customer reviews: Nurse Gone Strong is a educational, informative book about stepping back and think about yourself. When I was reading this book, yes this book is speaking to nurses, but Terri the author also is also speaking to everyone. She made me think about my lifestyle and yes we need to take time for ourselves. This book is very well written that it made me want to keep reading. It nice to know that if you have a question for the author you can go on her Facebook page, nurse gone strong. I highly recommend this book. I just read Ms Wentzells book. I am very pessimistic on books like hers, but since whe is a nurse like me ,I would give it a read with a cup of coffee. Terri has written about the stress of being a nurse and the importance and need to take care of oneself. Physically ,emotionally , and nutritionally. I have begun to use her interventions for a better human condition and I want to thank her someday and tell her how excellent her book. I have recommended her book to my friends and family and I also hope you buy this book as an investement in your well being. thanks Ms Wentzell ! I personally know Terri, I can say I am a better person to know such an exceptional lady. You don't have to be a nurse to relate to this book, great common sense, sometimes you just need to hear it again. I know I took so much from Terri's book. Take time for yourself.
