Anything is possible
heart transplant, inspirational story, organ transplant
Yes you read it right, WE ARE FINALLY GOING HOME MONDAY!!!
Pictured above is only part of Lauren's transplant team of Doctors. This is the team that agreed we can finally go home. There first choice was to send Lauren to rehab here in Boston. As soon as they were done talking, I sat their and said "NO". Lauren needs to go home, mentally. Yes Lauren is weak, but we will have in home physical therapy and visiting nursing coming to the house. We have been living in a hospital setting way to long, time to feel like people again. We are having a hospital bed delivered to the house, Lauren bedroom is on the second floor. She is not strong enough to do the stairs. I have started my training on how to care for Lauren, so I feel confident.
Today is Sunday, so I am praying all the plans follow through. You just never know what can happen between now and then. I won't believe it until I'm in the car with her. Our plans are to be pulling into Chicopee late afternoon.
From my prospective, I am so done with hospital living. I told Lauren she needs to find another hobby, getting transplants is getting old.
A very tired mom now to become a caregiver, time to pull out my scrubs.
