Living Life in the City
Anything is possible
heart transplant, inspirational story, organ transplant
When I was thinking about writing this post, I thought "what is today going to bring"? In my mind you never know. Could we get the call for her heart and kidney today? Only the good Lord knows that answer.
Yesterday I noticed Lauren's left arm looked a little swollen. In the past she has had blood clots in that arm, so to be on the safe side they are taking her down for an ultrasound later on today to make sure there is nothing happening. Better safe than sorry.
Lauren has been feeling good, the doctor's are happy with all her blood work in the last couple of days. A bit of relief for us. No medication changes.
The waiting game is very hard. As we sit here just watching the days go by, we wonder if it will ever happen. Depression is so easy to take over, you have to fight it with all you have not to get the better of you. When Gronk came to visit, it was priceless. We are so grateful to the Gronkowski brother's for taking the time.
I look out the window, and watch as people go along with their lives, thinking how lucky they are. Being able to have a life, is a gift in itself. Our's is on hold, until who knows when. It's getting harder when we think about being here in December, then went home for two weeks for Christmas, return here in January. Now it is April 6, 2018.
Thank you everyone for all the love and support, I am going to start a new page on my site, to list all the fundraisers that are being planned out. Last night Lauren was on the computer creating the poster for the Waterfront Tavern. So when the page is created, I will let you know.
