Anything is possible
heart transplant, inspirational story, organ transplant
All packed and ready to move to Boston. One last picture before we left.
Lauren and I are all moved into Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston Ma. I still cannot believe this is all happening again. The real weird thing is, we are in the same room that we lived in last time when Lauren was waiting for her new heart. Now Lauren is waiting for a new heart and a kidney.
Today is Wednesday, January 10th 2017. Lauren is listed as a 1A top of the transplant list. Lauren now has the PA line in with 2 different medications going through the line. That puts her at the top of the list, reason why she needs to be in the hospital to wait for her transplants. Below is a picture of the PA line, it is inserted into her neck. Picture was taken yesterday, she was still a little sleepy from the procedure.
Today has been a good day. No problems with the line (thank the good Lord). Lauren has been up sitting in her chair. She is (leashed) as we call it. Her line is connected to machines, so she cannot walk around, she has around a 4 foot radius. The line has to stay in for 10 days, then it comes out and she will have one day off. Lauren will be able walk around and shower. When the line goes in again, it probably be on the other side. So on Thursday January 18th, Lauren will be unleashed.
Just wanted to put out a post to let everyone know, so far everything is going good. Our spirits are good, trying to stay positive. No Debbie downers here. Our room is starting to look comfy, a few more decorations and we will be all set. Every now and then I say something out of the blue, just to keep Lauren on her toes. Something stupid just to get a smile. We told each other we got this, we did it once before and we will do it again.
Just throwing this out there, I will be referring to some terms, example (leashed) if you have read my book you will understand my language. If you haven't read my book," WHY NOT" , it tell our journey of Lauren first heart transplant.
