Doctor's rounds today, Lauren put on another pound (not good). Lauren is so many different meds to help get the fluids off, but they are not working. So today they are adding metolazone. How it worksMetolazone belongs to a class of drugs called diuretics. A class of drugs is a group of medications that work in a similar way. They’re often used to treat similar conditions. Diuretics work by causing you to urinate more. This helps remove excess fluid and salt from your body. Removing this excess fluid and salt also helps to lower your blood pressure. We were also told that if Lauren's body doesn't react well to this medication, they will have to start her on Lasix drip IV. With that said it means Lauren will not be allowed to leave the hospital. So our Christmas might be here on Frances Street in Boston. We are staying positive, this will work. ![]() Lauren's new best friend. Morning weigh-in tells us what our day will be like. Fill you in tomorrow Lynne
