. To start with, when I woke up this morning I didn't know where I was. Panicked, then realized OMG I'm home. Then I jumped out of bed to check on Lauren. I was relieved when she told me she felt fine and all her monitors were working.
The best part was I was able to go downstairs in my jammies, and make a cup of coffee. Best feeling in the world, never take that little morning act for granted. In the hospital I would have to get cleaned up, dressed, get money then walk to the elevator to the cafe. I was looking around my house thinking "you got some work to do here, as far as Christmas decorating". I kept thinking about that movie" Christmas with the Krank's". The part when they have to get their house ready for Christmas before their daughter comes home.
So much to do, still fighting this cold I got, but first priority, time to take care of Lauren. Morning weigh in, so important we need to record her weight everyday to make sure she doesn't start filling up with fluids. Then we had our nurse and social worker from Caregiver Homes, to get them caught up to speed with Lauren's medical conditions. We have known them for so long it was like friends coming for a visit.
After their visit, I dove into decorating and Lauren wrapped presents. It felt so good to do normal stuff. I think I was on a high about just being home with Lauren, I just kept going and going. Suitcases were unpacked and are set up to be repacked for when we return to the hospital. It just feels good to be organized. So tomorrow plan is we have our nurse from the VNA coming over to change Lauren's IV bag, do blood work and prep her for her shower.
I do have some great news!!!
Lauren is now officially listed on the heart and kidney transplant list as a 1B.
When we go back into the hospital she will be listed as a 1A, top of list.
