Best feeling in the World
Yesterday we received the call that Lauren's heart is moving in the right direction, getting stronger. The stress level in our house was off the roof, waiting to find out if Lauren was going to be re-listed on the heart transplant list.
After we received the call for the rest of the day, I felt so drained. My whole body just felt so heavy.
Well, today is a new day, well rested and ready to take on the world!!!
Have a beautiful day, I know I am
Million dollar question...
We have had a lot going on this week, but the one that has been on our whole families mind was "is Lauren going to be re-listed for another heart transplant?"
The doctor's started the process of the possibility of Lauren needed a new after her heart went into Heart Shock this past June. They told us they wanted to start the evolution and all the testing just incase Lauren's heart doesn't make a good recovery. The last couple of months have been tests and tests and tests. Digging into every aspects of our life again. To be placed on an organ list you must be approved. You are not just placed, even if your need it.
All tests and evaluations are complete. The transplant team had their meeting this morning to decide on Lauren's fate. We were told we would receive a phone call at some point today.
The phone rings and and they told us, Lauren was denied to be placed on the transplant list due to (OK GET READY) her heart is moving in the right direction.
Best new ever. Really do not know how we would have reacted if they were going to place her on the list again. All I know is we don't have to find out.
Embrace every day, you never know what is lurking behind you.
It's Official my book "Strength in a Heartbeat, Diary of a Heart Transplant in now for sale at ODYSSEY BOOKSHOP, in South Hadley on the Commons.
Writing this book, was very hard. Not only did we live this journey, but when I sat down to create this book, I had to re-live it over and over again. I am very proud of how the book's finished product came out.
I need to give a big shout out to my editor; Sutton Mason for her patience, understanding (working with a novice), her humor and compassion in working with me on this project. Thank you Sutton.
Well. it's done and now selling in multiple venues. I am so proud to announce it is now selling at the "Odyssey Bookshop", in South Hadley next to Mount Holyoke College.
